Art That Moves Our Community

Established in 1977 and officially dedicated in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Leon S. Goodall in 1982, the Goodall Gallery has long been a vibrant hub for contemporary art and cultural expression at Columbia College. Located inside the Spears Center for the Arts, the gallery presents thoughtfully curated exhibitions from local, regional, national, and international artists, while also uplifting emerging student creators.

It’s a space where conversation happens, curiosity sparks, and art invites us to look closer.

Meet the Director

Brittany M. Watkins (b. 1989, Carrollton, GA) is a distinguished multi-disciplinary artist, gallery director, and educator based in Columbia, SC. Appointed Director of Goodall Gallery at Columbia College in the Fall of 2023, she set out to reintroduce the gallery to the surrounding art community. Since then, the gallery has hosted seven exhibitions featuring twelve local artists and five regional artists with national and/or international recognition. Each exhibition has been thoughtfully curated, often pairing local and non-local artists to strengthen Columbia’s connection to the broader art world. Watkins has also revitalized the exhibition committee and selection process (starting Fall 2024) to ensure a diverse selection of artistic voices.
